Aikido is a powerful but non-aggressive martial art, excellent for self-defense, fitness and all-round self-confidence, and suitable for all ages. Aikido is taught in a friendly and social atmosphere at our Rangiora Dojo. Beginners are always welcome to come and watch and/or try.

Aikido was developed as practice for anyone of any age. It can be very dynamic and powerful as Takase Shihan demonstrates, but doesn't rely on strength in the execution of its techniques, and you can advance at your own pace. These very athletic falls are for advanced practitioners, and all breakfalls are designed to allow one to receive a technique without injury.
